Our Privacy Posture
Darkweb Market Atlas is a reference resource: we map markets, forums, escrow models and the law-enforcement operations that take them down. We do not host listings, process transactions, or run accounts for readers. That makes privacy simple to describe, and we would rather describe it plainly than hide behind contract language. Below is exactly what our servers see, why, and how you can push back.
Cookies and Local Storage
There is no advertising stack here and no cross-site pixel network. We set no tracking cookies. A single first-party cookie may store your display preferences (theme, table density), and it stays on your device until you clear it. If we ever add anything beyond that, this page changes first.
What Reaches Our Servers
- Standard request logs: IP address, browser and version string, requested path, referring page, timestamp.
- Nothing else. No profiles, no email lists, no comment accounts, no uploaded files.
Logs are rotated on a short schedule and then discarded. We keep no long-term archive tied to visitors.
Why We Retain Logs At All
Purely operational: detecting scanning and scraping abuse, blocking denial-of-service traffic, troubleshooting broken pages, and estimating how much bandwidth the atlas needs. We never sell, rent, license, or trade visitor data — there is no commercial pathway for it to leave us. Aggregated page-view counts may inform which markets we document next; individual requests never do.
Outside Providers
Pages are delivered through a content delivery network, which necessarily sees the connection metadata described above while serving the request. Any audience measurement we run is cookieless and aggregate-only. We name no other processors, because we use none.
